Bar Cart

I haven’t entirely been able to define the exact style that I furnish my various spaces outside of having elements of: bright wood, ideally light in structure, and adds a bit of contrast where the piece is placed. Also - functionality is key. I believe that the beauty of a design is heavily influenced by its ability to add value to a space through how it’s interacted with. That’s certainly a loose definition but a bar cart that holds (1) bottle or has a good 80% of wasted space is just absurd to me.

I may have gone a bit overboard on the wooden slats. I went back and forth on how many to add; having just the straight sides have slats, having just the four corners have slats, having a couple on the front corners and the bulk on the sides and back corners, etc. In CAD it’s a pretty easy thing to add / subtract to see the perfect combination for your vision. However once strength wasn’t an issue (and having a CNC router cut every little opening for me) I decided to just go for it and throw slats everywhere.

This did mean I had quite a bit of work ahead of me in creating the slats as well as how I was going to install them on the three CNC routed platforms.
