LED Art
Having experience creating various paper light shade panels, a new concept came up. What if instead of having a panel that was mostly illuminated, the illumination became the lines or a figure?
This line-art piece that I refer to as “Widow Window” has been the base composition for many of my art pieces - from a standard painted piece, to a shadow-cast illuminated frame, and its final form; illuminated lines.
Creating a 3D printed frame backing to push the panel away from the wall and giving just enough space for the LEDs to be perpendicular to the face was crucial in making this piece function. 3D printing allowed me to make the frame as thick as I wanted without having to laser cut multiple layers and stack them to the correct thickness.
